Page 123 Book Meme (Work Edition)

I've cut out step 6, which is "tag 5 people", 'cause I don't like blog-tagging - mostly because no one ever blog-tags me.

1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the test of the next 4 sentences, along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
Correction: Add a break statement at the end of the statements for the first case. Note that this is not necessarily an error if the programmer wants the statement of case 2: to execute every time the case 1: statement executes.
d) Error: improper relational operator used in the while repetition-continuation condition. Correction: Use <= rather than < or change 10 to 11.

2.14 Identify and correct the errors in each of the following (Note: there may be more than one error in each pieces of code):
-- from C++ How To Program, which was slightly closer than my employee guidelines. I'll have to do this again at home.

Comments:
Untreated early syphilis in pregnant women leads to fetal infection in at least 70% of cases and may result in stillbirth in up to 30%.

Latent:
Without treatment, sympotms and signs abate over 3-12 weeks, but in up to 20% of individuals may recur during aperiod known as early latency, a 2-year period in the UK (1 year in the USA). Late latency is based on reactive syphilis serology with no clinical manifestations for at least 2 years. This can continue for many years before the late stages of syphilis become apparent.

Food for thought eh Simon?

(From Kumar & Clark, "Clinical Medicine 6th Ed." (2005). Hey, you did say the nearest book).
